The AI Projects
Navigating the world of organic traffic development in this AI-driven era can be quite perplexing and sometimes frustrating due to the abundance of unclear indicators and constant adjustments (from Google).
PlanTrips
We encountered similar challenges while developing our AI-powered projects like PlanTrips. PlanTrips is an incredible AI trip planner designed to save you days of research by providing a wealth of recommendations. Despite generating 4,000 trips/posts so far, we anticipated a steady flow of organic traffic, but unfortunately, it's been close to negligible, leaving us scratching our heads.
We even sought advice from Julian Goldie, a rising star in SEO, but he couldn't pinpoint the main reasons behind this conundrum, apart from recommending more backlinks. Perhaps, he didn’t have enough time to dig deep into my case :D.
WriteAny
Our second AI project, WriteAny, is an AI auto-blogging solution. It was initially built towards leveraging on FAQ rich schema and our own SEO templates. Then:
What The Future Holds?
I've spent quite a bit of time scouring the Internet for wisdom, and it seems many fellow travelers on this path are facing the same struggle. Some happily share their success stories, but the proof often boils down to edited Google Search Console screenshots posted in social media groups.
It's got me thinking - maybe we're all expecting AI to work magic and speed up our rankings. While a typical blog usually takes 8 to 12 months to rank, most AI-generated blogs are just starting their journey. Perhaps, a little more patience and treating AI like good old human-written content is the key!

I think our concern shouldn't be about the ranking potential of AI content, but rather on understanding search intent and providing valuable content, much like the traditional approach to blogging. When we have the appropriate blogging system in place, AI can assist us in achieving similar results with reduced effort and cost.
The Road Ahead
I plan to reduce my focus on Substack and dedicate more time to our ongoing projects. Moving forward, I'll allocate my writing time to:
PlanTrips: Travel blogging and travel tips
WriteAny: Niche site development and AI content generation tips
Zesno: General SEO tips (Zesno is my local digital marketing agency)
Substack: Project updates
Additionally, I've transitioned XucXic, a link-building service I initially started as part of my #BuildInPublic experiment in the previous post, to DFYweb, a more comprehensive approach aligned with Zesno's existing services.
At DFYweb, you will find:
Done-For-You websites: Ready-made website on great domain names to get you started in no time. The content will be created with our WriteAny.
Ultimate niche site packages: We build a website on demand for you.
That’s it! Drop me a message and let’s connected.
Stay awesome.
